You may already know the story of Princessâthe Ramona Barn Owlsâ logo design that started it all.
Sheâs bold. Sheâs expressive. Sheâs full of personality.
And if youâve been following along for a while, youâve probably seen her everywhereâfrom our clothing to the stories we tell about the owls we love.
We love our Princess design because we love designs that stand out. And now, weâre releasing something a little more understated alongside it.
This design may look new, but itâs actually been part of our story from the very beginning.
Where It All Started
Before Ramona Barn Owls became a clothing brandâbefore the prints, the designs, the creativityâwe were just a livestream on a mission to save the owls.
So our Fairy Owlet Mother, Stacey Mae Rudge, was simply looking for an owl logo she could put on some business cards. Something simple, recognizable, and meaningful.
So she worked with a designer to create a simple owl sketch.
It was a clean outline of a barn owlâperched, calm, and quietly powerful.
That sketch was the beginning of everything.

Then Came the Personality
As the brand grew⌠so did the designs.
We leaned into creativity. We added color. We added detail. We added personality. The designs became brighter, more expressiveâand we love that. That style reflects a huge part of who we areâfun, a little bold, a little different.
Because if you know Stacey, you know sheâs not exactly a âkeep it simpleâ kind of person.
Thereâs personality in everything she creates. Thereâs energy. Thereâs story.
And that has become part of our identity.

Making Room for Every Style
But as our mission grew, so did our owl clothing line.
And now, weâd like to give a little something to our understated fashionistas too.
Not instead of what we already loveâŚJust alongside it.

If thereâs one thing weâve learned along the way, itâs thisâwe didnât build this brand alone.
We built it with you.
We listened. We paid attention. We noticed what you were drawn to, what you wore on repeat, and what made you feel good putting something on.
And over time, we heard that some of you love bold, colorful designs that tell a story at first glance.

More Than a Design
This is the part that matters most.
Because no matter which style you gravitate towardâthe bold Princess designs or the more minimal owl sketchâwhat youâre wearing represents something bigger.
Itâs a way of helping spread awareness, education, and our mission to protect owls through poison-free pest controlâone of the most important ways we can keep them safe.
Every design becomes a conversation starter. Every piece helps share a message. And every person who wears it becomes part of something largerâa growing community choosing better, safer ways to coexist with the wildlife around us.
Thatâs what makes this more than just clothing.
And it doesnât stop with what you wear. You can also be part of the story by tuning into our 24/7 barn owl livestream, where you get to witness these incredible birds up close and follow their journeys in real time.
Try Your Own Barn Owl Sketch
This is where it all started for us so we thought it would be fun to bring it full circle so you can try sketching a barn owl yourself!
Hereâs a simple step-by-step of how to draw an owl:
Step 1: Draw the face shape
Start with a soft heart shape. Barn owls are known for their heart-shaped faces, so this gives your sketch that classic look right away.

Step 2: Add the eyes
Inside the face, draw two rounded eyes. You can make them simple circles or slightly oval, depending on the style you want.
Barn owls have large, forward-facing eyes, which helps them judge distance when hunting at night.

Step 3: Sketch the beak
Barn owls have a soft ridge of feathers that runs from the top of their face down between their eyesâbut itâs not actually the beak. Itâs part of their facial feathers, and the beak itself is small and sits right at the bottom.
When sketching a barn owl, you can just keep it simple and use an elongated triangle to represent that whole shape.

Step 4: Draw the head and body
Draw a soft, rounded shape around the heart to create the owlâs head. Then extend down into a simple oval body.

Step 5: Add the wings
Add two curved lines, one on each side of the body for the wings. They can rest close to the owlâs sides for a calm, perched look.

Step 6: Sketch the feet
At the bottom, add two small feet. Barn owls have sharp, curved talons that help them grip and catch their prey, so you can draw two small groups of three oval shapes with slightly pointed tips to represent the claws.
You can also draw your owl standing on a branch if you want to make it more detailed.

Step 7: Add feather details
Use a few light lines to suggest feathers on the wings and body. You do not need to overdo itâjust enough to give it texture.
Barn owl feathers are soft and fluffy, which helps muffle sound and keeps their flight nearly silent.

Step 8: Make it your own
Color it, keep it minimal, or add your own style, whatever you want. That is part of the fun.
We added glasses and a head tilt to ours to give it some Ramona Barn Owls personality!
